Hope Soccer’s Impact
As we share some data and numbers with you, please know that we are sharing these statistics with humility and the full understanding that this is His ministry. As such, any and all success has happened because of His great love, mercy, and grace! Not us, or our efforts. To Christ the glory!
Reach
Since Hope was started in 2019, we’ve served over 2,500 registered players from 140 + schools in Charlotte and surrounding areas, including SC’s Fort Mill and Rock Hill. (Schools include pre-schools, developmental academies, and homeschool).
We currently serve between 275 to 325 children per season, or about 550 to 650 annually. We share Jesus at every practice.
By His grace, since 2019, we estimate that over 2,500 registered players have heard about Jesus on the soccer field while playing at Hope. With the younger children, ages 11 and under, when we gather them to the middle for our devotion – sharing Jesus, their parents usually gather behind them. If you try to estimate the total number of people who heard about Jesus, including parents, grand-parents, siblings and other relatives, the number likely triples. On this side of eternity, we won’t know when and how God used Hope Soccer to plant a seed in someone’s life.
Giving Back
So far, since our first season in 2019, we have awarded over 480 scholarships to kids whose parents can’t afford to pay for soccer, or wouldn’t ordinarily pay for such an activity. When a player receives a scholarship, they pay $0 to play. We even buy them their uniform – which is theirs to keep. This is a value of $89,760.

Diversity
Our Hope kids are from all corners of the globe! It reminds us of the verse that says those before the Lamb are from every nation, language and tribe! When Nick started Hope, he imagined that most of the participants would be children of people who go to church and are looking for a Christian outlet for their kids to do sports at. But God had a different plan. Hope is over 80% minorities and a large percentage of our kids are un-churched.
Mentorship
Our founder, Nick, coaches Hope U18s and about 80% of his team serve Hope as coaches. We hire about 15 additional teens from local high schools who are all talented soccer players to coach our kids. That brings our total coaches to about 30. Teaching our young coaches how to lead their teams, motivate their kids, is a mentorship program in itself. It is a valuable experience for the teens to learn responsibility in their role as coaches at Hope. Our coaches come back to coach again season after season.
Coaches Being Mentored
Locally Plugged
As Hope approaches it’s 4th birthday, we are glad to share how we’ve connected with different groups locally including Pineville Police, Pineville United Methodist Church, and the Pineville Chamber of Commerce. We are thankful to have developed these relationships and we are excited to watch how God uses them to tell more people about Hope and our mission.
